Rocks

I guess that the grading was sub par. The landscapers (day laborers) came by and made a trough in the back so the water will run down to the sides of the house then out to the street. It would be so much easier to just put some drains in the back yard and run them to the street or the sewer. Oh well, some engineer is making big bucks to come up with stupid plans.

Then the landscapers came by later this afternoon and started to pour the rocks around our landscaping.

We requested that they rock the entire backyard (what there is of one) as we will be putting in a deck in the near future. They didn’t complete the task and will be back tomorrow morning.

 Well, Israel is a bust this year too... Time to visit the family via a road trip. We figure it will take two days of driving to reach California.  Of course we will make planned stops along the way. Jordan Day 1

 It's been almost three years since we had payed for our trip to Jordan and Israel.  THREE FUCKING YEARS! We finally went and had a great time.   The trip lasted almost a month and we started our adventure in Amman, Jordan.  We arrived a day early so we could acclimate to the time change (nine hour difference).   We had purchased some Briggs and Riley high end luggage in hopes to carry them on the plane due to all of the recent horror stories of lost and or delayed baggage.  No such luck!  We were forced to check our bags at the gate in Denver.  If we had known our bags would have to be checked, we would have brought a lot more clothes and a much bigger suitcase.  We only brought six days of clothes (with an extra abundance of underwear and socks).   The planes were on time and we arrived in Amman a bit tired and eager to get going.   Our first hotel was the House Boutique Hotel which was really comfortable.  The hotel had a ro...

Now We Wait….

I guess that we were a little anxious this morning. We set the alarm for 5am but we woke up at 4:30 and decided to get up. A few cups of coffee later and we were ready to leave. We took showers and double/triple checked the bags ensuring that we had everything we need. After placing the MacBooks in the backpack the true weight was realized. Due to the morning traffic, we took the toll road (E-470). We made it to the DIA in under 30 minutes but ended up in the wrong arrival lane (as opposed to departure) and drove around the airport aimlessly. Poor Travis. He has no idea how to get out of here. I gave him $3 for parking and sent him on his way. Within a half hour Travis posted that he has our house to himself while we are gone. You would think that he would wait until we were out of the country before he posted that. I quickly sent him a response to his post. We are at the departure gate waiting for our plane to land.
