Arizona Trip

Time for another Road Trip! The Players: Michelle, Steve, Chelsea, Josh, Travis and Erich It has been awhile since the Schiller, Schrader and Sampson (part Schrader, part Sampson) got together. The last get together was Chelsea's Graduation from college (when I think about it, it really wasn't that long ago) and it Chelsea thought we needed to get together again.   Where to meet?  Indiana?  Been there done that. Besides Chelsea and Josh need to get out of country bumpkin-ville every once and awhile.   Minnesota?  No way eh!  Too hot, too humid. Okay, that may not be true but I can't think of any other reason not to go there in the summer. If the trip was planned for the winter, the main reason not to go would be, it's too fucking cold.  Mental note for future winter invitations.   Colorado?  No, we already live here. Duh   Arizona?  Ding, ding, ding. Yep, Sedona as a matter of fact.   I know what you're thinking.  Arizona in August?  Too ducking hot (damn spell chec

RMNP

What to do today?  Stain the deck? Bike ride? Clean the house? Fuck off?   Today's Weather Forecast:     The winner is…take a Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) road trip.   The Trail Ridge Road should be open. The road travels over the mountain from the vicinity of Estes Park to Winter Park.   We have only taken this drive in the fall so this should be interesting.   We are showered and ready to go after we do the following: Load the Jeep (with the top down) Stop at Jimmy John's for sandwiches Get gas Ice (for liquid refreshments) Well, it only took a couple of hours to get to the park.   Quite the weather change at the (14,xxx feet or so) summit:  68 degrees and windy. The wind felt nice though.   We found a trail that led to Ute Meadows (3.8 mile hike) and Beaver Creek (6.5 miles). We said, "fuck that" to both  (due to time constraints) and just hiked in about a mile or so. The hike is on our list of things to do.   Here are a couple of pictures from the trail:
