All Moved In & Partially Unpacked

It has been a few days since we moved in. Comcast came out yesterday and hooked up our internet, phone and TV. It seems that our network speed has improved to 50mbs download and 14mbs upload. NICE!

Sorry to hear about Robin Williams. Our thoughts go out to his family. He will definitely be missed!

Back to us now

We have been busy unpacking, going to Lowes, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowes, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowes, Starbucks (just found the espresso machine today) Ace Hardware, King Soopers, Applebees, Lowes, Post Office (to pickup our mailbox keys). Not to mention hanging curtains and blinds as well as installing a new 4 prong dryer cord (three prong wall sockets are a thing of the past).

We need a vacation from our vacation so we can relax. This is probably the longest that we have sat down in the past three days.

We know you have been waiting for pictures so, here they are!

The landscapers will be back tomorrow to put rock on the side and rear yard. We have tree in the back too. The tree in the back is the same make and model as the front. We are not sure what type of tree it is but it looks like some sort of maple.

The bushes in the front yard are “Burning Bush”…whatever…..

Drywall Has Started!!

We got an email from Courtney (our beloved sales lady @ Richmond/American Homes) stating that the drywall material was dropped off at the new house yesterday and they will start drywalling immediately. We went by the house today to take a look. We opened the front door and immediately saw four of the laborers sitting against the wall enjoying lunch (and a bit of music). I am not sure who was more surprised to see who! I should have snapped a picture of them sitting there with jaws agape. Definitely a Kodak moment. The upstairs is almost completely drywalled since the blew in the attic insulation earlier in the week and the ground floor is about half way done. I guess that they will start the basement soon. Did I mention that we opted for the finished basement? I probably did but I like repeating it since it will be cool to have a finished basement. Michelle stated that it will be a cool place to build a fort. Oh wait, I think she said that about the master bedroom walk in clo

Trip To IKEA

We have been contemplating going to IKEA all last week and decided to make today “IKEA Day”. We have been looking at for a wall unit/entertainment center for the living room. The wall that we are planning on using has 111” of space available. We figured that the modular units that IKEA sells would be a good place to start. Here is a picture of what we currently have: As you can see, the wall currently looks like shit. That is about to change. So, as you know, we went to IKEA today and we found three units that we both liked. Scratch that, we actually found two that we liked and one that we kinda of sorta liked but not enough to post a picture here on my blog. Do you think you can tell which unit we bought? To help you make your choice, remember that our hardwood floors are dark and the walls are a beige color. This unit is totally modular so you can make it fit your lifestyle. We like the way that it is suspended off of the floor.     We like this one also. The glass fronts

Jordan Day 1

It's been almost three years since we had payed for our trip to Jordan and Israel.  THREE FUCKING YEARS! We finally went and had a great time.   The trip lasted almost a month and we started our adventure in Amman, Jordan.  We arrived a day early so we could acclimate to the time change (nine hour difference).   We had purchased some Briggs and Riley high end luggage in hopes to carry them on the plane due to all of the recent horror stories of lost and or delayed baggage.  No such luck!  We were forced to check our bags at the gate in Denver.  If we had known our bags would have to be checked, we would have brought a lot more clothes and a much bigger suitcase.  We only brought six days of clothes (with an extra abundance of underwear and socks).   The planes were on time and we arrived in Amman a bit tired and eager to get going.   Our first hotel was the House Boutique Hotel which was really comfortable.  The hotel had a roof top pool and most importantly, a roof top bar. A lit
