Denver Botanic Gardens In The Spring 2021

Denver has officially lifted its Mask Mandate for fully vaccinated people while outdoors! I still feel a bit weary about this especially since this mandate is based on the honor system.

Well, what do we have to loose right? Head outdoors to the Denver Botanic Gardens for a bit of sunshine while it lasts today.

We got to the gardens at 0900 and the really wasn't a lot of people there. That soon changed.

People everywhere.

Just because the mask mandate has been lifted doesn't mean you can block the sidewalks, or social distance to some extent.

After just three shot hours, we got sick of the people and headed home.

Most of the above photos were taken using my Olympus 12-100mm lens (which totally kicks ass by the way) and my 60mm macro lens without a tripod. I rule. You know it so you don't have to verbally acknowledge it.

Jordan Day 1

It's been almost three years since we had payed for our trip to Jordan and Israel. THREE FUCKING YEARS! We finally went and had a great time. The trip lasted almost a month and we started our adventure in Amman, Jordan. We arrived a day early so we could acclimate to the time change (nine hour difference). We had purchased some Briggs and Riley high end luggage in hopes to carry them on the plane due to all of the recent horror stories of lost and or delayed baggage. No such luck! We were forced to check our bags at the gate in Denver. If we had known our bags would have to be checked, we would have brought a lot more clothes and a much bigger suitcase. We only brought six days of clothes (with an extra abundance of underwear and socks). The planes were on time and we arrived in Amman a bit tired and eager to get going. Medertariain Food!

We have had a hankering for some Mediterranean food for the past week or so. I talked to a co-worker of mine, Laufnick and he recommended a place in Boulder called, The Med. Since our nephew, Travis just signed up for a four year stint in the Air Force, we decided this would be a good way to celebrate. Okay, a little more about the Air Force….Travis has been interested in enlisting for quite some time but he had to do some prep work before he could be considered an applicant. Travis had to drop about 30 pounds before he could enlist. When Travis made his goal weight, he contacted a recruiter (which was a nightmare by the way) and started the enlistment process. This past Tuesday, Travis took his entrance exam (and scored a whopping 92%) and took a physical. After successfully passing his physical and spilling his urine on his roommate (another story to share at a later time) he officially became enlisted. Thank You For The Smoke (California)! Wyoming Sucked

Another attempt at Astrophotography gone up in smoke. Thank you California for the ruining our Wyoming weekend. Don't worry, we will be visiting soon and will definitely leave a mark on your ass. The smoke was so bad in Wyoming. Thick, grey and disgusting. Of course, this didn't stop people from going to one of our favorite spots in Wyoming. Medicine Bow National Forest. We dressed for 60 degree weather. We didn't expect 35 degree weather with fog and blustery wind. Glad we packed additional clothes (hats, gloves, scarfs etc). I am ahead of myself. The day excursion to Medicine Bow was the second day. We spent the first day at the Wyoming Territorial Prison to visit relatives. Ha...the prison is now a park.
