Denver City Park

We tend to miss photographing the fall colors of Denver. Usually we shoot too early resulting in green trees or way too fucking late and those shots result in twigs and sticks. We end up driving for hours on end just to miss the fall colors. Not this time dammit! Why drive a couple three hundred miles when we can drive about ten miles to Denver City Park and shoot the “woods” there. You be the judge, jury and executioner. Executioner meaning execute your right to view these awesome shots with your eyes and judge for yourself that I am one kickass photographer. Oh, by the way, these photos were shot using an iPhone 7.

Here is a video of the shoot:  https://youtu.be/bAzpRIuAp0Y

Thank you for viewing my blog. I probably don’t say it enough but if it wasn’t for you (and I do mean you as there is probably only one person, you, reading this) I wouldn’t be writing this meaningless crap. Hope you are having a great weekend.

Kansas and Oklahoma Road Trip

One thing is for certain is that traffic does not exist in Kansas or Oklahoma.  Not even during the Labor Day Weekend. Michelle and I took Friday off so we could do a short road trip (750 miles one way is considered short for us) through Kansas and to Tulsa, OK. Michelle plotted a few interesting things to see in both states. Kansas:  Monument Rock (yes, a rock), Strataca Salt Mine and the Keeper of the Plains in Wichita. Oklahoma:  A waterfall and the Philbrook Museum of Art. We got off of the interstate for Monument Rock and the road immediately turned into a dirt road.  Drive twenty miles, make a left.  Drive six more miles, make a right.  Drive twelve more miles, make a right.  This went on for a bit but we eventually got there.  We pulled in the parking area and nobody else was present.  Sign of good things to come. The sun wasn't out and but we had some cool clouds for the most part. I will have to say that Monument Rock was really cool.  In the middle of nowher

Jordan Day 1

It's been almost three years since we had payed for our trip to Jordan and Israel.  THREE FUCKING YEARS! We finally went and had a great time.   The trip lasted almost a month and we started our adventure in Amman, Jordan.  We arrived a day early so we could acclimate to the time change (nine hour difference).   We had purchased some Briggs and Riley high end luggage in hopes to carry them on the plane due to all of the recent horror stories of lost and or delayed baggage.  No such luck!  We were forced to check our bags at the gate in Denver.  If we had known our bags would have to be checked, we would have brought a lot more clothes and a much bigger suitcase.  We only brought six days of clothes (with an extra abundance of underwear and socks).   The planes were on time and we arrived in Amman a bit tired and eager to get going.   Our first hotel was the House Boutique Hotel which was really comfortable.  The hotel had a roof top pool and most importantly, a roof top bar. A lit

Thank You For The Smoke (California)! Wyoming Sucked

Another attempt at Astrophotography gone up in smoke.   Thank you California for the ruining our Wyoming weekend.  Don't worry, we will be visiting soon and will definitely leave a mark on your ass. The smoke was so bad in Wyoming.  Thick, grey and disgusting. Of course, this didn't stop people from going to one of our favorite spots in Wyoming.  Medicine Bow National Forest.   We dressed for 60 degree weather.  We didn't expect 35 degree weather with fog and blustery wind.  Glad we packed additional clothes (hats, gloves, scarfs etc). I am ahead of myself.  The day excursion to Medicine Bow was the second day.   We spent the first day at the Wyoming Territorial Prison to visit relatives.  Ha...the prison is now a park.  The prison's most famous prisoner was Butch Cassidy.  The only prison that Butch was incarcerated in.  Pretty good for career criminal. We spent most of the day at the prison.  Historical Prisons will the only ones that I will visit.  My mother raised m
